Big Fish incident, a lesson for Sierra Leoneans

Big Fish incident, a lesson for Sierra Leoneans By: Kembay Those always clamouring for War after seen yesterday random shooting on Charlotte and Lightfoot Boston Streets in Freetown by a desperado should now know such is just a tip of an ice bag in a warfare.  Big Fish after forcefully snatching, the riffle from the female police officer didn't go on looking out for APC or SLPP but was determine to shoot at anyone who dare stand his way irrespective of your political loyalty, Religious trait, tribal or Regional connection.  The few minutes he spent with the gun while moving up an down, saw almost all the streets in CBD deserted with everyone indoor except the security forces who were positioning themselves at intersections point to end the menace.  What caused the desertion and the indoor staying was that everyone knew that either by mistake or intention coming in contact with Big Fish at that moment, would have been your end. Tomabum rice production

Sierra Leone's government is still working hard to ensure that Tomabum rice production becomes a reality. Despite the fact that the community has small-scale rice production, which has helped to reduce the impact of the high cost of a bag of rice. A plan has been developed to begin large-scale rice production, however this cannot be realized unless specific structures are in place. As a result, on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, the Regional Rice Value Chain Project in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security will sign a contract with an international consultant for Tormabum infrastructure development.

SIERRA LEONEANS IN THE UNITED STATES DEMAND THAT THE ACC CONTINUE ITS INVESTIGATION OF THE ALLEGEDLY CORRUPTED FCC MAYOR.

By Joseph Freeman in USA A group of Sierra Leoneans stormed the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Washington DC today in support of President Bio’s fight against corruption.  The group agitated for the ACC to continue investigating the Freetown City Council Mayor Yvonne Aki Sawyer. Aki Sawyer should not be a sacred cow. No one is above the law. Sierra Leone is a democratic country, and President Bio is highly respected at international level for human capital development, women’s right and gender parity , rural electrification, improvement in the mining sector, and the fight against corruption.  Unfortunately, Aki Sawyer is using her ill gotten wealth to hire women in the United States to demonstrate on her behalf. She failed in her agenda of giving a bad name to the government of President Bio. Surly, corruption is fighting back.  President Bio  has the full support of the people of Sierra Leone, and the Sierra Leone diaspora community in United States. Aim Network Ne

See what BBC Umaru Fofona had to say about the 2016 water crisis.

I've stated numerous times that the Sierra Leone government is implementing significant improvements. One notable development that has yet to be recognized is the improvement in water access in the municipality of Freetown. It should be noted that there are still extremely serious difficulties that we hope the government will use all available resources to address.  In comparison, the four-year administration has fared significantly better in terms of water management than the previous 11-year APC administration. I was one of those who continuously protested the city's bothersome water crisis during the APC era. Not only has the New Direction Government taken excellent strides to alleviate the vexing consequences in the city, but it has also expanded the drinking water program to rural areas. Many towns and Chiefdom headquarters in this country have functioning pipe-borne water systems. See what BBC's Umaru Fofona had to say about the Freetown water problem in

Why is Sierra Leone's music business still on its knees?

I was reading an incomprehensible article written by a claimed musician named Atical Foyoh, who was attempting to get Sierra Leoneans to support their music career. If you get the opportunity to speak with Atical Foyoh, please inform him that music is not a religion, and that people always prefer to listen to good music with thunderous sounds and meaningful words. People will find it difficult to support you if you sing but lack those attributes. Atical Foyoh's facebook post Because the goal is to enlarge the fan base and create money, an artist should have neutral words on his songs that will appeal to everyone. However, because the bulk of our Sierra Leonean artists get their money from politicians rather than fans, they will choose to be one-sided. It's either they'll elect to support a regime in order to acquire recognition from them, or they'll choose to oppose a system in order to gain favor from the opposing side. In reality, s

How did EBK help to the construction of the Magbele Bridge?

Let me be clear about something. Nobody denies that former President Koroma initiated the construction of the Adikali Madu Bridge, formerly known as the Magbele Bridge. But first, let's look at what transpired. The European Union is working on an initiative to improve access to West African countries. And the European Union has been a partner to West African states for over 40 years, and the European Union is West Africa's largest trading partner, supporting the region in a variety of ways with the goal of improving people's living conditions and ensuring long-term development. Despite the fact that West Africa's global trade has more than tripled in the last decade, and the integrated West African economy is estimated to be worth more than €1 trillion in commerce, industry, agriculture, services, and other sectors, serious development challenges such as peace and security, a growing young population in desperate need of new economic opportunities, and mig

The scheme of President Bio and Vice President Jalloh to create Port Loko a political stronghold has been exposed.

The aim for making Port Loko SLPP political base is straightforward. In today's politics, the only successful technique for gaining favor in any of Sierra Leone's four regions is performance. And the SLPP, led by President Bio and Vice President Jalloh, has just completed significant work for the Port Loko District, which would gain them electoral votes.  See below for some of the great achievements made by the New Direction Government in Portloko District during the last four years.
