The crackdown on imposters within the district of Kono is gaining traction.
A fake  military commander was apprehended by the Tankoro patrol unit around a month or two ago. Today, another imposter claiming to be a member of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) was unsuccessful at the Ansarul Islamic Girls Secondary School Center.

Mohammed Akim Sonnie, who claimed to live at No. 14 Gassama Street, Calaba Town, Freetown, is accused of harassing students and envigilators in Koidu City during the ongoing WASSCE exams. He was walking around with a self-made WAEC ID card, claiming to be a Coordinator.

Unfortunately for him, he went to Ansarul Islamic Girls Secondary School today during the WASSCE examination time, where he presented himself to be a WAEC staff member performing normal checks. Mr Ibrahim Sahid Koroma, principal of the Kono Model Academy (KMA) and supervisor for the aforementioned facility, became suspicious and informed the authorised WAEC officer in Kono about the unknown employees. The WAEC officer, in turn, promptly contacted Tankoro Police Station and informed them of the problem. The suspect was captured by police after they arrived on the spot. He was taken to the station and questioned.

Initially, he claimed to be a WAEC employee, but during the concurrent interrogation, the suspect admitted that he was only acting. He is not a member of the WAEC staff. He claimed that he created the ID card for himself and then traveled to Kono to carry out his plan.

He is being held in police custody to assist with the investigation. Please see the photographs below.

He accepted the cash and fled without telling them where he was.  The m
