STATE HOUSE President Bio Launches $60M Health Project By: Zacharia Jalloh President Dr Julius Maada Bio has just launched the Sierra Leone Quality Essential Health Services and Systems Support Project at an auspicious occasion at State House.  The project is a Government project that is funded by World Bank. The Project will target 5 Districts -. Bonthe, Tonkolili, Kailahun, Falaba and Western Area Rural. It aims at reducing maternal mortality rate from 717 per 100,000 to less than 300 per 100,000 in those districts. The Country Manager of World Bank Mr. Abdu Muwonge in his statement commended government's commitment to improving the health sector and assured government of the Bank's support to the project. The Minister of Health and Sanitation Dr. Austin Demby assured citizens that every penny meant for the project will be utilized for the intended purpose.
