Sierra Leone Celebrates  United Nations Security Council Victory  The Office of the First Lady has on Monday June 12th 2023, successfully hosted a cocktail reception at the Bintumani Conference Centre in recognition of Sierra Leone’s election to the United Nations Security Council. The event was graced by development partners including members of the Diplomatic Corps, Ministers of Government and Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies. Addressing the invited guests, His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio recalled that Sierra Leone got elected on Tuesday June 6 2023, by an overwhelming majority, to serve a two-year period as non-permanent member of the United Nation’s Security Council. Sierra Leone, he said, will serve meaningfully at the security council in line with the country’s seven priorities. Eight illegal protestors arrested

FREETOWN EAST MEDIA UPDATE Eight protesters have been arrested together with their placards at Foamex Junction, Calabatown, for conducting an unlawful demonstration to disturb the public peace.  Their timely arrest came as a result of the joint security patrol operations conducted by both SLP and RSLAF personnel of Freetown-East. Suspects who identified themselves as; John Bangura, Tejan Conteh, Ibrahim Samuel Foday, Gibrilla Sesay, Mohamed Kargbo, Junior Sahr Boima, Alusine Kamara, and Mohamed Junior Mansaray are now at the CID Headquarters for further investigation.  See pics below. Two arrested...

34-uear-old Sallieu Conteh, an auto-electrician of 14 City  Road, Brima Lane, East-end of Freetown, is in custody at the Waterloo Police Station after he threatened to "crush to death the Police" over a political argument that erupted in a poda-poda that was heading to Waterloo.  Enraged by the threats on the lives of the Police, the poda-poda driver, together with some passengers, handed the said suspect to the Waterloo Police for further investigations.  In another development, 22-year-old Sheriff Kargbo, who lives at the Waterloo *Bormeh Dumpsite* along the Freetown-Waterloo highway, is in detention at the Waterloo Police Station after he was caught destroying the newly-erected Sierra Leone Police tents at Tombo junction, Waterloo.  "I have no relevant excuse for my action. IMF drops $20.8 million to the New Direction Government
