Turkish Ambassador Pays Follow-up visit to IGP on PIKM Regulation By Kembay Police Headquarters George Street Freetown, Wednesday 28th February, 2024 Her Excellency the Turkish Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Madam Sibel Erkan has visited the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. William Fayia Sellu to know the SLP stands on the Police Coordination and Cooperation Center (PIKM), ahead of the 5-6 May and 15-17 July, 2024 OIC meetings in Banju and Yaounde respectively.  In her presentations, Her Excellency Madam Erkan discloses that, her visit was to know if the SLP is interested in being part of the Police Coordination and Cooperation Center (PIKM) establishment following the 13th Summit  heads of States and Government of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Salone was re-selected to continue Compact Development by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC


On Wednesday, 13 December 2023, Sierra Leone was re-selected to continue Compact
Development by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Board of Directors, chaired by United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The re-selection signals increased confidence in the actions taken by the Government of Sierra Leone to address
concerns that the MCC Board raised in September.
The proposed Compact will increase the availability of reliable and affordable electricity in Sierra Leone. Specifically, the Compact will increase private sector participation in power supply, double the energy transmission capacity, increase access in select towns, and enhance sector governance and institutional capacity. Having recently concluded the Core feasibility studies to determine the scope of the Compact, Sierra Leone looks forward to engaging in negotiations with MCC to finalize the process.
In November 2023, Sierra Leone passed the MCC Scorecard for the fifth consecutive time 
one of the areas considered for Sierra Leone's re-selection for the compact. Upon
receiving the scorecard in November, His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio reiterated that "the most valuable contribution MCC has made to Sierra Leone to date has been the provision of an objective framework to engage and assess Sierra Leone's development aspirations reflecting both national expectations and international benchmarks."
The government of Sierra Leone remains committed to the critical reforms needed to
deepen democracy, improve the investment climate, and strengthen and grow human
capital development in line with the MCC principles. The much-anticipated Compact will address the binding constraint of energy, contributing to economic growth and poverty
alleviation for the people of Sierra Leone.

By Kembay Sierra Leoneans and other non citizens residents in Sierra Leone were shocked over a statements made by the ousted United States of America Ambassador, David Reimer in a local Radio broadcast on Thursday 17th August, 2023.
