Turkish Ambassador Pays Follow-up visit to IGP on PIKM Regulation By Kembay Police Headquarters George Street Freetown, Wednesday 28th February, 2024 Her Excellency the Turkish Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Madam Sibel Erkan has visited the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. William Fayia Sellu to know the SLP stands on the Police Coordination and Cooperation Center (PIKM), ahead of the 5-6 May and 15-17 July, 2024 OIC meetings in Banju and Yaounde respectively.  In her presentations, Her Excellency Madam Erkan discloses that, her visit was to know if the SLP is interested in being part of the Police Coordination and Cooperation Center (PIKM) establishment following the 13th Summit  heads of States and Government of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). I find the Nigerian police force's decision to remove those two police officers unimpressive


I find the Nigerian police force's decision to remove those two police officers unimpressive. I believe the money request made to the Dutch visitor was not deliberate; rather, it was intended as a jest, in my opinion. 

Suppose their action was deliberate and contravened the professional code of conduct for law enforcement. Police officials in Africa often engage in corrupt practices by accepting bribes from other Africans without facing consequences. However, when such actions are committed against a Western individual, the police are more likely to face disciplinary measures, maybe to appease Western societies.

By Kembay Sierra Leoneans and other non citizens residents in Sierra Leone were shocked over a statements made by the ousted United States of America Ambassador, David Reimer in a local Radio broadcast on Thursday 17th August, 2023.
