Turkish Ambassador Pays Follow-up visit to IGP on PIKM Regulation By Kembay Police Headquarters George Street Freetown, Wednesday 28th February, 2024 Her Excellency the Turkish Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Madam Sibel Erkan has visited the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. William Fayia Sellu to know the SLP stands on the Police Coordination and Cooperation Center (PIKM), ahead of the 5-6 May and 15-17 July, 2024 OIC meetings in Banju and Yaounde respectively.  In her presentations, Her Excellency Madam Erkan discloses that, her visit was to know if the SLP is interested in being part of the Police Coordination and Cooperation Center (PIKM) establishment following the 13th Summit  heads of States and Government of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Heavy rain in Freetown has wreaked havoc.

Report of 28 AUG ’22 informs of flash floods and landslide in some communities in the Western Area due to torrential rains as follows: 

In Kanikay, Culvert, Kaningo and Tengbeh Town, some houses and major roads are reportedly flooded leaving residents trapped in the raging waters and their properties destroyed.  
 In Looking Town, there was a landslide that covered two houses and some people are reportedly trapped in the rubble. Residents in the community managed to remove five people from the rubble. Four (04) of them had already died and the remaining one, a child (age 7) was rescued alive and taken to the Rokupa Government Hospital.  

In Brook Street, a perimeter fence collapsed on a building which left some people trapped in the building.  

In Cassava Farm on Leicester Road, a building collapsed due to the torrential rain. However, no casualties have been reported. 

At Mary Street by Circular Road, an electrical pole has fallen down due to the torrential rains. 

On Bai Bureh Road by Bumeh Landfill, a big tree has fallen down barricading the main street. This has prevented vehicular movements and poses threats to pedestrians.

If you recall, in the year 2022, Dr. John Idriss Lahai, a whistle-blower who exposed a phony degree, attracted the attention of every patriotic Sierra Leonean. His activity came to light after it was found that numerous Sierra Leoneans had received honorary PhDs from a Waterloo, Western Rural District postsecondary institution that was not accredited. Even well-known Sierra Leoneans, including the previous Inspector General of Police, were given honorary PhDs by the university known as Dominion University. A scammer from Sierra Leone has been captured by Guinean police.

  The person in the picture is actually Abdulai Jalloh, despite the fact that he is identified as a lecturer from Njala University under the name of Dr. Kanu. In early January of this year, he posted in a WhatsApp group in Kambia that he had scholarship chances and could help people acquire government pin codes, among other things, but that the offer was only valid for those from the South and east.   Someone sent him NLe1,500 for overseas study without realizing he was a scammer.  The scammer claimed that the entire application process for the scholarship cost 3,000 New Leone.  Later, the contacted person realized that he was not who he had been representing himself to be, and he immediately blocked the victim of his syndicate.  He once more perpetrated the same crime against Molai, another individual, and someone else.  In the pretense of an international scholarship, he demanded 3000 New Leones from each person. He accepted the cash and fled without telling them where he was.  The m
