Turkish Ambassador Pays Follow-up visit to IGP on PIKM Regulation By Kembay Police Headquarters George Street Freetown, Wednesday 28th February, 2024 Her Excellency the Turkish Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Madam Sibel Erkan has visited the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. William Fayia Sellu to know the SLP stands on the Police Coordination and Cooperation Center (PIKM), ahead of the 5-6 May and 15-17 July, 2024 OIC meetings in Banju and Yaounde respectively.  In her presentations, Her Excellency Madam Erkan discloses that, her visit was to know if the SLP is interested in being part of the Police Coordination and Cooperation Center (PIKM) establishment following the 13th Summit  heads of States and Government of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Auditor General and Deputy Auditor General Tribunal hearing starts on the 17th this month

PUBLIC NOTICE

The General Public is hereby informed that the Tribunal set-up by His Excellency the President with the mandate to inquire into a case for stated misconduct against the Auditor-General, Mrs Lara Taylor-Pearce and Mr. Tamba Momoh commences Public Hearings on Thursday 17th March, 2022 at 12:00noon at the Main Law Courts Building, Siaka Stevens Street, Freetown.

It could be recalled that His Exceilency the President appointed the Hon. Justice (Rtd) Mrs. Nyawo Matturi-Jones, JsC, as Chairperson, Hon. Justice Ivan Sesay, JA, and Lahai Momoh Farmah Esq as Members of the Tribunal. 

By this Notice the Auditor-General, Mrs. Lara Taylor Pearce and Mr. Tamba Momoh are hereby required to attend.

    FOCUS ON SIERRA LEONE:15 March 2022.

    President Bio's indefinite suspension of the auditor general in Sierra Leone was unconstitutional. And setting up his handpicked investigation team to investigate her on misconduct is equally unconstitutional.

    Any professional organisation has its own disciplinary procedures in place to investigate its employees on misconduct. I believe the Sierra Leone audit commission should have known if the auditor general Mrs Lara Taylor-Pearce has breached its code of conduct. Where this was the case, the organisation would have decided to suspend her from duty whilst they conduct an investigation.

    There are two types of professional misconducts.

    Generally, both are improper behaviours that are incompatible with the rules of the employment.

    A gross misconduct,however is a much severe and unacceptable behavior that can often leads to a summary dismissal. But it is usually the professional body, in the case of Mrs Lara Taylor-Pearce, the Sierra Leone audit commission was the appropriate authority to investigate her of any improper conduct by invoking it disciplinary procedures and not the head of state.

    There are so much irregularities in the governance system of Sierra Leone.
