Breaking News‼️ PRA seals & suspend NP Brookfields Gas Station The NP petroleum station  at Brookfields, Kinghaman Road Freetown, has been sealed and license suspended for a deliberate refusal to sell to the public violating the petroleum laws of Sierra Leone.  The statuon refused to sell out fuel to the public as on the process being caught up on the  supervision by the Chairman of the Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA), during the investigation as to why they're refusing to sell out to the public, findings came out that they have a Suffient products as follows:  Petrol: 14,800 liters,  10,000 in BRV, 4,800 liters underground. First Lady Announces  Scholarship For Rape Victims

The First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, has disclosed that her Foundation will be providing scholarships and business start-ups for victims of rape. 

She was speaking at the weekly government  press briefing held on the 7th of November, 2023, at the conference room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
In 2022, Her Excellency the First Lady championed a course at the United Nations, seeking a dedicated day for survivors of rape and sexual violence. 

Her compelling case caused the United Nations to dedicate November 18 as 'United Nations World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence'.

To mark the day for the first time, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio will be granting educational and business support to rape victims.

"I want to commemorate 
this important day in Sierra Leone with rape victims, pray with them, and also for a start, my Foundation will offer university support, vocational training, and business capital," the First Lady pledged. 

This year's commemoration will be held in Sierra Leone with the First Ladies of Nigeria, HE. Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Angola, HE. Ana Dias Lourenco, expected to grace the occasion, while popular Nigerian singer, Osinachi Kalu, will serve as guest singer at the Winners Chapel.

The First Lady also revealed at the press briefing that next year Sierra Leone will host the United Nations 'Zero Waste Summit' in Freetown. 
Dr. Fatima Maada Bio is one of eight eminent members selected by the United Nations to champion 'Zero Waste' globally. The First Lady of Turkey, HE Emine Erdogan, who is the Chair of the Advisory Board of Zero Waste will arrive in Sierra Leone to witness the event.

A scammer from Sierra Leone has been captured by Guinean police.

  The person in the picture is actually Abdulai Jalloh, despite the fact that he is identified as a lecturer from Njala University under the name of Dr. Kanu. In early January of this year, he posted in a WhatsApp group in Kambia that he had scholarship chances and could help people acquire government pin codes, among other things, but that the offer was only valid for those from the South and east.   Someone sent him NLe1,500 for overseas study without realizing he was a scammer.  The scammer claimed that the entire application process for the scholarship cost 3,000 New Leone.  Later, the contacted person realized that he was not who he had been representing himself to be, and he immediately blocked the victim of his syndicate.  He once more perpetrated the same crime against Molai, another individual, and someone else.  In the pretense of an international scholarship, he demanded 3000 New Leones from each person.
