Turkish Ambassador Pays Follow-up visit to IGP on PIKM Regulation By Kembay Police Headquarters George Street Freetown, Wednesday 28th February, 2024 Her Excellency the Turkish Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Madam Sibel Erkan has visited the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. William Fayia Sellu to know the SLP stands on the Police Coordination and Cooperation Center (PIKM), ahead of the 5-6 May and 15-17 July, 2024 OIC meetings in Banju and Yaounde respectively.  In her presentations, Her Excellency Madam Erkan discloses that, her visit was to know if the SLP is interested in being part of the Police Coordination and Cooperation Center (PIKM) establishment following the 13th Summit  heads of States and Government of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The police have re-invited the Mayor of Freetown.


The mayor of Freetown was summoned by the Sierra Leone Police for questioning regarding an alleged obstruction of police duties and disruptive behavior in a police station.
The mayor was supposed to appear on Friday, September 30, 2022, but his legal team informs the police that their client, the mayor, is ill and would be unable to attend the police invitation.

The letter was received by the police, and the officers responded as follows.

"I am directed to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 30h September, 2022 and another
addressed to the CID Headquarters dated 29 September copied the Inspector General of
Police (IGP) and to state that both have received his attention.
I am further directed to inform you that, the investigators will wait to receive your client on
Monday 3 October, 2022 at the ClD Headquarters at 1000 hours.
By copy hereof, the Head of CID is in formed accordingly
Be assured of our cooperation at all times."

By Kembay Sierra Leoneans and other non citizens residents in Sierra Leone were shocked over a statements made by the ousted United States of America Ambassador, David Reimer in a local Radio broadcast on Thursday 17th August, 2023.
