Big Fish incident, a lesson for Sierra Leoneans By: Kembay Those always clamouring for War after seen yesterday random shooting on Charlotte and Lightfoot Boston Streets in Freetown by a desperado should now know such is just a tip of an ice bag in a warfare. Big Fish after forcefully snatching, the riffle from the female police officer didn't go on looking out for APC or SLPP but was determine to shoot at anyone who dare stand his way irrespective of your political loyalty, Religious trait, tribal or Regional connection. The few minutes he spent with the gun while moving up an down, saw almost all the streets in CBD deserted with everyone indoor except the security forces who were positioning themselves at intersections point to end the menace. UPDATE ON RESPONSES TO THE BUMPEH BRIDGE ACCIDENT
In order to ensure the safety of the personnel on the operations and to minimise further damage to the bridge, a heavier tonnage of equipment is to be added to those already on site. It will help to expedite the removal of the trapped dozer and trailer from the bridge.
In the meantime, a team of SLRA Engineers is engaged in light grading and spot improvement works along the Njala - Sembehun Junction Road to ease vehicular movements along the alternative route.
In another development, the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Emma Kowa -Jalloh and the Member of Parliament for constituency 078, Bo District, Hon. Habib Fabbah have provided two motorized speed boats with 40 horsepower outboard engines and 20 life jackets to enhance the safe crossing of people across the Tabe River.
Additionally, the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) and the Sierra Leone Maritime Administration (SLMA) have provided 40 new life jackets for local boat operators to ensure the safety of the community residents that cross the Tabe river by boat.
From a distance no one would have thought of a light equipment to lift the dozer off that bridge. Kudos to the fisheries ministry for the support and too surprised that the disaster management unit lacks basic equipment.
