Big Fish incident, a lesson for Sierra Leoneans By: Kembay Those always clamouring for War after seen yesterday random shooting on Charlotte and Lightfoot Boston Streets in Freetown by a desperado should now know such is just a tip of an ice bag in a warfare. Big Fish after forcefully snatching, the riffle from the female police officer didn't go on looking out for APC or SLPP but was determine to shoot at anyone who dare stand his way irrespective of your political loyalty, Religious trait, tribal or Regional connection. The few minutes he spent with the gun while moving up an down, saw almost all the streets in CBD deserted with everyone indoor except the security forces who were positioning themselves at intersections point to end the menace. What caused the desertion and the indoor staying was that everyone knew that either by mistake or intention coming in contact with Big Fish at that moment, would have been your end. That is
Evidence has surfaced that contradicts one of John Idriss Lahai's claims. And, as I've already stated, it's a clear sign that not everything he writes is true. He is doing the right thing, but depending entirely on rumor may jeopardize his kindness to Sierra Leone.
Brima Ronnie Kargbo, a youthful and charismatic Sierra Leonean who works for NATCOM as the Director of Administration and Human Resource Management Director, was featured in a publication by John Idriss Lahai. In an exact paraphrase of his "nemakui" English writing skills, Lahai claimed:
"Brima Ronnie Kargbo indeed started his Bachelor's degree studies at Njala University. It is also true that he abandoned the course halfway and moved to the UK (this was during the latter part of the civil war: 1996/1997-ish). As such, what is not true, and for which Njala University should investigate (to verify my claim) and, thereafter, sue Brima Ronnie Kargbo for forgery of their certificate (a crime of intellectual property right), is the fact that Ronnie submitted that, between October 1992 and July 1998, he studied and graduated with a BSc in Agricultural Science (General).
To cut a long tale short, John Idriss Lahai said that Mr. Kargbo didn't have his merit certificate and had to falsify his academic certifications in order to get a job at NATCOM.
Lecturers at the institution, people who attended the university and graduated with the accused, and documents with pictorial evidence have all been utilized to refute John Idriss Lahai's claims.
In my previous articles against John Idriss Lahai, I stated that he must be cautious with his results, or else he will recklessly damage people's hard-earned reputations, which will be impossible to rebuild in this type of culture.
Note that I am not endorsing anyone with undeserved academic credentials. And I'm pleased to see John Idriss Lahai exposing it, but it must be done in the proper and traditional manner.
I entered Njala with Briama in 1993 but he never graduated with us in 1999( two years extra as a result of the rebel attack in the Makonde campus and the AFRC take over). To clear your self from this public disgrace, post your original certificate or go to the government bookshop and get the Gazette of the 1999 graduates from USL. The attestation you are backing on is still not convincing.
