As the Freetown international airport rehabilitation project nears completion, residents of Kafu Bullum and Port Loko District have pledged to vote for President Bio in large numbers in the upcoming election, claiming that he has refused to allow their job facilities to be relocated.
President Bio spoke about the transformation and rehabilitation of our main national assets when he was elected President of the Republic of Sierra Leone in 2018. The country's most valuable asset, the Freetown International Airport, was not up to international standards and could not afford the necessary accommodations. The president didn't waste any time in finding partners for the country's airport renovations and expansion.
Instead of renovating the existing airport, which was in bad shape and couldn't be a burden on the state in the future, the APC regime chose to build a new one (debt). The APC government had to seek a shady loan from the Chinese government in the amount of $400 million to build a new airport and abandon the one in Kafu Bullum.
If the Mamama Airport project had been undertaken in a selfless manner, it would have been a fantastic facility for Sierra Leone. However, when the project arrangements were examined by the IMF and some international partners, they were deemed to be a bad deal that would ruin the country for years.
Not only did the project face international condemnation, but it also threatened to relocate job facilities from Lungi to another location. When President Bio thoroughly investigated the project, he had no choice but to cancel it, and he even received international praise for taking such a bold step.
For those who are still unsure about the project, I have included a video clip that explains how the Freetown International Airport expansion is progressing.
Good work Bio! May Allah continue to bless you.
